What are the different events that occur during an academic year?

During the school term, a number of events take place, sometimes giving learners a break. So, whether it’s spring or winter, there are a number of events that make access to the course impossible. In this article, we’ll find out what these events are.

Holidays

In France, the sequence of events follows on from the holidays. During the school year, it is very common to see learners exhausted or sometimes even bored of their lessons. So, with the help of the Ministry of Education, a decree has been issued to highlight the various types of leave available to learners. However, the days of relaxation leave or Easter leave do not exceed two weeks.

However, taking time off during the academic year means finding a little time to either review courses or rest from the first term of the school year. At the same time, academies that have to work for an indefinite period will have time off.

Public holidays

Unlike holidays, public holidays are periods or dates marking an event. Public holidays are not dates chosen by the government. They are days on which festivities are celebrated, such as Christmas, Easter, All Saints’ Day and others. These days are known as school breaks and are sometimes days off with pay.

Public holidays can also be celebrations of Muslim or Christian festivals. Whatever the size of the area, public holidays are taken into account. The various dates for public holidays are not standard and may therefore vary from one year to the next.

School holidays

School holidays are events marking the end of the school year. The day, or rather the date, of the holiday is decided by the government. In France, this is the winter or spring holidays. However, when learners are aware of the holiday dates, they are already preparing for the end of the year. This allows learners to do everything they can to have a successful school year.

Each class in the various education sectors is also equipped with an educational marker to alert parents to any changes that may occur during the school year. The holidays are therefore important events that also allow the government to prepare for the end of the school year and to start planning and setting the new date for the start of the new school year.

National holidays

During the school year, holidays, holidays and public holidays are all events that allow learners to take a break from their lessons. But when it comes to national holidays, the date is well known and the day is always a public holiday throughout France. At the same time, the government has put the code for education authorities online.

During this holiday, any activity broadcast throughout the country is subject to less fuss, allowing learners to keep abreast of the news. The various dates characterising the different events in the country are all maintained with consultation of the school calendar.
